Help keep Reconnect Rochester moving in 2014 with a year end, tax-deductible contribution.
As you know, we are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to build a more sustainable transportation network for our community. This isn’t easy. To be effective, we need to bring together smart, dedicated people to think up new and creative ways to put these issues in the public spotlight. And we also need money to be able to operate and execute these ideas. I hope you will consider making a year-end contribution to Reconnect Rochester so that we can continue this important work together.

You can make a tax-deductible donation in any amount via PayPal or check. And we’ve also set up all new sponsorship levels with lots of awesome perks for your as our way of saying thanks. Perks include posters, t-shirts, books, and even a free dinner with us at the Owl House!

So as we close out 2013, we’d like to take a look back at the year, and invite you to help us keep moving in 2014…

In 2013 we were busy…

Building Support for Public Transit
We organize an event each June called ROC Transit Day external link. Hundreds of local businesses participate by offering fun deals and prize give-aways to transit riders. And people everywhere leave their cars at home for one day, in a show of support for public transit.

Helping Improve Transit Through Better Design
We’re using our design skills external link and working with RGRTA to suggest improvements to Rochester’s bus schedules, maps, fare cards, and signs – critical tools for transit riders.

Steering Rochester’s Intermodal Station
As active stakeholders in the Intermodal Station project, we’ve been working with NYSDOT & Congresswoman Louise Slaughter to make sure the new station works for all Rochesterians.

Supporting the Inner Loop Project
We can’t wait to see Rochester’s east side reconnected with downtown! We continue to work closely with the City of Rochester, suggesting improvements external link as the plan progresses.

Advocating for Pedestrian Safety
Our volunteers participate in the public input phase of every road project we possibly can. We walk the street and then offer suggestions to D.O.T. officials on how the project area can be made safer.

Speaking Out
We’re blogging, writing emails, sending letters, and making phone calls everyday because we know how important transportation alternatives are to our region’s future. We also do a lot of public speaking.

This past year you may have caught us at a Highland Park Neighborhood meeting, Hobart William Smith College, Rochester’s Active Transportation Symposium, Greentopia Futures Summit, Greentopia EcoFest, or TEDxRochester external link.

With your support, we’ll be on the move again in 2014. Please see our sponsorship levels here external link and consider making a year end contribution in any amount. Thank you!
