Last month we unveiled an idea to put seating at area bus stops. Our little CUBE seats have since garnered local and national attention, and we’ve also been approached by The Harley School, Rochester Community Design Center, and The Strong National Museum of Play about partnering to make this idea a reality! Today, Rochester Transit Service (RTS) official threw their support behind the cubes as well…
In a signed letter, CEO Bill Carpenter says, “The bus stop seating cubes you and your members have designed are truly innovative! We at RTS extend our support as you seek to partner with neighborhood associations and local businesses to obtain approvals and funding to produce and place the cubes in our community.
The letter goes on to suggest that RTS is also aiming to address the issue of seating (and the lack of other amenities) at high traffic bus stops…
This is a most excellent sign of progress! Let’s keep going, Rochester!
