As part of its new Comprehensive Plan, Rochester 2034, the City of Rochester is studying which major streets have the best potential for “transit supportive development” in Rochester.  Transit supportive development encourages a mix of complementary activities and destinations (e.g., housing, work, shopping, services, and entertainment) along major streets and centers. This kind of development helps create compact, vibrant communities where it’s easier for people to walk, bike, and use public transit to get around.

Transit Supportive Development (TSD)The City is asking for your input to help inform the study through an online survey.

The project team will also be at the Public Market on Saturday, February 10 from 9am-noon in the “B” Shed spaces 25-27.

This study is being coordinated with Reimagine RTS. RTS makes transit service decisions and the City guides land use and development decisions. The City’s goal with this project is to work with RTS and development partners to help make Rochester more transit-friendly. Final recommendations from the study will inform Rochester’s Comprehensive Plan, Rochester 2034.
